About MC Mod Wiki — Site Operations & Recommendation Criteria
A Korean and English information site about Minecraft modpacks and mods, written by someone who actually plays each one. This page explains, honestly, who the site is for, what criteria are used, and how it is operated.
👨👧 Who runs the site?
All content is written by a single operator who plays Minecraft modpacks together with their child. This is a one-person site, not an editorial team or a company, so updates may not be the fastest — but every article is written only after the modpack has been installed and played first-hand. Wiki data is not copy-pasted automatically, which means if there is an error in the content, the person most responsible is, ultimately, the operator. If you spot bad information, please let us know via the contact page.
📌 Why this site exists
Most modpack information online is in English, which makes it hard for newcomers — especially Korean-speaking players — to figure out "which modpack is right for me" without spending a lot of time. The operator personally got tired of digging through English wikis, Reddit, and Discord every time a new modpack came out, and decided that "if I write it down, the next person will have an easier time." That is how the site started.
The direction is simple — honestly answer the single question, "Is this modpack right for me?" Rather than focusing on mod counts or download numbers, articles try to describe what the modpack actually feels like to play.
🎯 How are modpacks recommended?
- Verified by hands-on play — Every recommended modpack is installed and played for at least 5 hours before being evaluated. Download counts alone are never the deciding factor.
- Community signals as reference — CurseForge / Modrinth download numbers and mention frequency on Reddit r/feedthebeast and Discord are used as supporting indicators.
- Sorted by player type — Recommendations always specify a concrete audience, e.g. "great for beginners" or "best for veterans with lots of time."
- Who it's NOT for is also stated — No modpack is good for everyone. Each article intentionally includes a "not recommended for" section.
- Pros and cons together — Articles never list only the good points. Common stuck points and frequent issues are written down as well.
📚 What sources are used?
The main information sources are listed below, and sources are cited in the body of articles whenever possible.
- Actual play sessions — by far the largest share.
- CurseForge / Modrinth — official modpack/mod pages, version info, install instructions.
- Each modpack's official wiki and Discord — intended progression order, patch notes.
- Reddit r/feedthebeast and other communities — secondary verification, reported issues.
- Mojang official announcements — Minecraft version and loader compatibility.
All copyright in mods and modpacks belongs to their respective creators. This is a non-commercial fan site.
📅 How often is content updated?
When a new modpack launches or an existing modpack receives a major patch, we aim to reflect it within 1–2 weeks. As a one-person site, we cannot keep up with every single patch note immediately. Each article shows a publish date at the top — please use it as a reference, and if information looks outdated or does not match your actual play experience, let us know and it will be one of the first things fixed.
✏️ Found wrong information? — Correction requests
If you find incorrect information, typos, broken links, or changed mod compatibility, please email us via the contact page. Including the following details makes corrections much faster.
- The URL of the affected page
- What is wrong and how it should be corrected (with a source link if possible)
- The modpack version and play environment you confirmed it on (optional)
Reported corrections are reviewed and applied within 24–72 hours when possible. Edit history is publicly visible through GitHub commit logs, so anyone can audit the changes.
💸 Ads and sponsorship policy
To help cover operating costs (a stand-in for domain and hosting expenses), this site may display Google AdSense ads. However:
- We do not accept payment from modpack creators or publishers in exchange for recommendation articles.
- We do not run paid sponsored content designed to give specific modpacks preferential exposure.
- If affiliate links are ever used, they will be clearly disclosed in the article. None are used at this time.
- Ads are placed so that they are clearly separated from article content.
⚙️ How the site is operated
MC Mod Wiki is built as a static site, so it loads fast and stays light. There is no sign-up, login, or comment system — anyone can browse the information freely. Both Korean and English are supported, and you can switch languages from the picker on the right side of the header. Your selected language is stored in a cookie (see the Privacy Policy for details).
